Grilled Balsamic Onions

red onions, peeled and halved (or cut into 1/8 pieces and threaded on skewers to hold them together)
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Drizzle oil into vinegar very slowly, whisking until it is mixed well. Marinate onions in mixture for 3 hours. Grill the onions until browned, about 10 minutes per side, brushing frequently with marinade.
