"I celebrate myself, and sing myself,
And what I assume you shall assume,
For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you."--Walt Whitman
"There's a lot of deep-seated narcissism on the World Wide Web."
--John Perry Barlow
Don't get me wrong--I think personal web sites are great. I've had all kinds of fun with mine since I put it up a few years ago. It's been an excuse to do some fun research and web-surfing, it's let me meet some cool people, and it's cheaper than therapy. But I also have to admit that a personal web site is the height of egotism. What you're saying to the world, in effect, is "Here I am, and here are all these really neat things I'm interested in. I'm just SO sure that everyone else will be as fascinated by it as I am, so I've laid it all out for you here in loving, exhaustive detail." Bit of a leap of faith there, don't you think? Of course, has it stopped me? Naaah!
So here it is...the simple story of an average, ordinary 54-year-old fat bisexual pagan Deadhead, educator, rabble-rouser, and Mac geek who lives in Seattle in a little house with my husband Tony, where I like to cook and collect floaty pens...just one of the many hard-working, uncelebrated individuals helping to make Cyberspace great.
Welcome to my little corner of the Net. Enjoy your stay!
And now...MaryMc's Photo Gallery! Here you can see my very first topless photo...one of Tony's and my wedding pictures...a more recent photo, taken in my office...and a picture taken on my friend Garry's sailboat...and one taken with Tony at Whistler, B.C....And of course, the inevitable vacation photos!
